Meet the Team

Rick is the founder and President of Bi-State Pool & Spa. The company started out of a bedroom / office in his first house in 1994. Rick is involved in many organizations and is a past President of the PHTA.org St. Louis Chapter, Chair of the national Builders Council, and has served on many other committees. He is a Certified Building Professional, a Certified Service Professional of the year (2018) and a Certified Pool Operator Instructor. Rick has three kids, who he enjoys boating and fishing with, he is an inactive SCUBA instructor, has a passion for diving and is a terrible golfer. FORE!

Matt and Rick met in 1990 when Matt was an aquatic supervisor at a YMCA. He went on to be the first aquatic supervisor at the St. Peters Rec-Plex when it opened in 1994. Shortly thereafter, he joined Rick as his business partner and helped develop Bi-State Pool & Spa into its present-day status. Matt is also a former swim team coach and enjoys spending time with his 3 kids as they excel in sports and dance. He and his wife Danielle are constantly on the move with kids activities. In his spare time, Matt is an avid hunter.

They say “cream floats to the top”. When Nathan started in 2002 as a laborer, it was soon realized that he was on target to rise to the top of our organization. His responsibilities are the service and construction departments. Customers love him and his co-workers respect him for all of his hard work. Nathan is married to Amy and has 3 active kids who keep them busy. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys boating and hunting. You can also ask him to show you his dance video.

It takes a team of women to tame the men at Bi-State Pool and Spa, and Amanda helps Kristy in this endeavor. She of course has experience taming men being that she has a team of 4 boys at home plus her husband Levi. In November / December every year, Amanda works limited hours as she is also busy taming the men at a duck hunting club that her husband runs. If you need to talk to her, simply pick up the phone and “quack”, we’ll know who it’s for.

Jim started working at Bi-State in 2009 to help with marketing and his position has evolved into sales and a “jack of all trades”. Jim has also been a President for the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals local chapter. Jim is married to Diane and has 2 grown kids who keep him on his toes with projects. Jim enjoys family time along with a good game of tennis.

While the newest member of our team since 2014, Kristy is the woman who we all turn to when in need. Always with a smile on her face, she comes to work and has to put up with this motley crew. Kristy is a proud mom of 3. She is an avid Cardinals fan and enjoys Facebook.

Coming to Bi-State in 2008 as an experienced service technician, we have modified Adam’s role whereas his responsibilities are finishing up construction projects, programming controllers and doing pool schools with customers. Stay away from Adam during his lunch break! We’re not sure where he puts all that food, but of his hobbies, eating has to be up there. Karen is his beautiful wife who he has 2 gorgeous daughters with.

Joe was the second employee to ever work at Bi-State. Wow, what a long way he has come! Going from not knowing anything about pools into one of the finest service supervisors in the nation, we are certainly proud of Joe and all of his accomplishments. Joe has attended many tech schools, CPO courses, manufacturer seminars and excelled through education to be at the top of his game. He is married to Amanda and has 3 great kids. Joe enjoys tinkering with tools and is even an inventor of a pool scaffolding system.

Joe followed in his brother's footsteps and came to work at Bi-State in 2004. While his brother Scott has since opened up his own pool company, Joe continued to excel where his brother left off. Today we marvel at the beautiful projects that Joe is responsible for. While quiet by nature, he leads by example and is well respected by his peers. Joe has a wonderful son and daughter and is married to his fun wife Julie. Family activities keep him busy when he is not working.
